About Alber Orchard & Cider Mill: Alber Orchard & Cider Mill is owned and operated today by Mike and Therese Bossory. The Bossory’s are the first owners outside the Alber family since the farm was purchased by John Alber in 1881. Mike and Therese seek to maintain and preserve the local history and traditions of the area, growing more than 150 varieties of apples, many of which are heirloom varieties no longer available in grocery stores. They have also modernized the original 1890 Mount Gilead Cider Press. Orchard guests are able to have a front row seat of the press in action.
